Windows Internet Connection Firewall error on startup

Applies to: Vision6 version 6.9 and 6.9.1, Vision 7.0 or higher, Vision Pro 7.3 or higher

This error will pop up an error message starting with

Vision has to update Windows Internet Connection Firewall configuration in order to function properly.

Generally this error is indicating the Windows Internet connection firewall service is disabled and Vision is unable to add it's firewall exceptions to the computer. To resolve this error go into the registry and delete the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Netop > Vision > 6 > Control Manager > ShellEx > Tasks > {7C02A0F7-60B8-44a8-9632-B11B45F9B687}

On 64 bit operating systems it would be 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Netop > Vision > 6 > Control Manager > ShellEx > Tasks > {7C02A0F7-60B8-44a8-9632-B11B45F9B687}
